Thank you for your friendship and support

Dear friends:

Thank you for your friendship and support. It was your daily encouragement and commitment to our cause that fueled my passion and got me out the house every day to walk the neighborhoods and meet with the 184 precinct committee people. You were there next to me, in spirit or in person, until the very end and I am forever grateful.

Last night the vacancy committee elected Pat Steadman as the next senator of our district. I congratulate Pat on his victory and wish him only the best. I look forward to working with him on the issues I care deeply about.

I also want to recognize the other courageous candidates, especially my good friend Jill Conrad. We had some remarkable Democrats in the running and I am honored to have shared a stage with them. I am also encouraged by the talent and new energy within our Party and hope to see many of these individuals in public service in the near future.

The last five weeks have certainly been filled with every kind of emotion and in the end I came out a stronger person because of it. Although I got many votes on election night, what I care most about is the many new friends I made in the process. Thanks again for your support.
